I am a Mum with three children, two boys and a girl, and I like to get involved with my local community.  When my youngest child was born I was lucky enough to have a big Silver Cross pram to push her around in so you may have seen us out in the village.  I have lived in Grampound Road since 2007, moving here from Treviscoe where I grew up, and enjoy being on the Parish Council.  I am also involved with the Grampound Road Playing Field Association which organises the village fayre and I was the Editor of the Grampound Road Guardian for a year.  My family and I enjoy our camper van holidays and I enjoy baking, sewing patchwork quilts and trying to grow plants in our garden which can survive the constant attacks of a football.

Since moving to Cornwall in 1990 with my family from the Midlands, I have enjoyed living in Ladock, and taken an active part in village life, although with one grandparent from the Isles of Scilly. I have always had a connection with this part of the country.  I have now retired from teaching at Cornwall College and spend time with my grandchildren, walking, gardening, and when I have time, reading.

Since August 2013 I have been one of the editors for the Ladock News, which has also kept me busy. Helping with the production and distribution of this magazine has had the added benefit of broadening my contact with people in the village and the surrounding area which I feel has supported my role as Parish Councillor.

I am originally a Cheshire lass. My working life was as a cardiac physiologist, mostly in the National Health Service. With more time at home recently, my involvement with community life increased and in 2013 I became a parish Councillor.  I have enjoyed networking within my own and neighbouring parishes and become the parish council representative on the Ladock Community Hall committee and Truro and Roseland Community Network.

I am part of the editorial/publishing team of the Ladock News.  I enjoy spending time gardening and walking (but not when it is raining!). I also enjoy cooking for family and friends who visit our little piece of heaven in Cornwall, which has been our home since 2003.

Elected to the council in 2013, I’m a science teacher and outdoor education instructor. My family moved here when I was 16 and I’ve lived in Ladock for 20 years. I live on the family small-holding which we have (nearly!) renovated and are now redesigning, installing, landscaping and planting guided by the ethics and principles of Permaculture Design.
