I moved to Ladock with my wife, Jennifer, in 2013 and count it as one of the best decisions we ever made. Prior to moving here I worked for 35 years in the automotive industry, mainly in global operational and strategic roles. We have 3 grown-up children, who are in the process of delivering our first grandchildren, and I have been active locally in a number of areas including the Ladock Players, Citizens Advice and the acquisition of a defibrillator for Ladock. I want to see the Parish thrive whilst retaining its special identity and friendly, community atmosphere.

Since moving to Cornwall in 1990 with my family from the Midlands, I have enjoyed living in Ladock, and taken an active part in village life, although with one grandparent from the Isles of Scilly. I have always had a connection with this part of the country. I have now retired from teaching at Cornwall College and spend time with my grandchildren, walking, gardening, and when I have time, reading.
Since August 2013 I have been one of the editors for the Ladock News, which has also kept me busy. Helping with the production and distribution of this magazine has had the added benefit of broadening my contact with people in the village and the surrounding area which I feel has supported my role as Parish Councillor.

Mrs Julie Howes
Parish Councillor

Julie Howes
I am originally a Cheshire lass. My working life was as a cardiac physiologist, mostly in the National Health Service. With more time at home recently, my involvement with community life increased and in 2013 I became a parish Councillor. I have enjoyed networking within my own and neighbouring parishes and become the parish council representative on the Ladock Community Hall committee and Truro and Roseland Community Network.
I am part of the editorial/publishing team of the Ladock News. I enjoy spending time gardening and walking (but not when it is raining!). I also enjoy cooking for family and friends who visit our little piece of heaven in Cornwall, which has been our home since 2003.
